Transparency

Mountain Province Diamonds believes that the right balance between socioeconomic and environmental impacts must be determined collaboratively, working together with the communities with whom we share the land.

We understand that transparency is the requisite foundation for collaboration.

Economic Benefits, Social Programs, and Charitable Giving

Mountain Province Diamonds is committed to ensuring the socioeconomic benefits of the project are shared locally.  We prioritise local purchasing and invest in community development programs through our charitable giving programs. At our Gahcho Kué mine, 69% of mine procurement is from Northwest Territories-based companies.

In 2023, donations were at a high for the local communities due to wildfires and related support for evacuations, rebuilding on ongoing support. In total $1.7 million dollars were provided to support communities in the NWT.

Through Gahcho Kué mine we also contribute directly to local communities in support of culture and heritage, sport, community development, education, training, and health programs. Recipient programs are selected in collaboration with communities and recognise the diversity of the communities with whom we share the land.

For more information on the programs we have supported, please read the Gahcho Kué Mine 2023 Socioeconomic Report
